Domain Names back on the front burner!

I finally finished the Domain Name Flipping book review and I hope everyong goes and grabs it – I’ll post a link once it is released, but if you didn’t take my advice yesterday you should still go spend some time on Morgan’s site and read as much as you can.

Since I finished the review and I still have a few minutes before the kids get up and I have to go to my real job, I tried to catch up on Shane’s blog… Wow, he comes up with some great names and even better commentary – maybe it’s just my sick sense of humor, but I smile every time I go there.  Tonight or tomorrow I’m going to catch up on a few others I try to follow… I’ve seen some of the headlines, but I’m trying to stay focused on one thing at a time right now to see how that works out for me…

Well, I didn’t die and I still have some domain names…

Since I didn’t die yet and I still have some domain names I guess I need to evaluate how I did living yesterday and those three goals…  They were to:

     1) Finish a book review
     2) Get some articles written for a new site
     3) Send some emails on sites and domains to flip

Well, I didn’t make them all, but there is at least a good reason…  I started working on the book review again and it was so good that I ended up reading it all and then had to start back reviewing it.  Made good headway and I should finish tonight.  Good thing is that it will change how I was going to do the other two tasks…

The book I’m reviewing is on domain name flipping and it is from a guy named Morgan Linton.   It is due to be released soon so go pick it up.  Until it is released, you should REALLY go over and spend some time on his site, www.MorganLinton.com and learn as much as you can.  He is one of the more “real” people you will find on the net discussing domains, development and building an online business.

If you are just getting into domaining or trying to make money online then the book I’m reviewing is for you and you should really go pick it up – it will save you a LOT of time and wasted money.

If you have been buying domain names and just “collecting” them (ie not selling many) then the book I’m reviewing is for you as well – you may know some of the concepts, but it is clear and very plain on what you should do.

Now remember, you will die, so go do this now. :)

Remember – you will die!

“Just Do It”, “Carpe Diem”, “Life is short”, “You only live once”, “Yada, yada…”.  I hear these quotes all the time and if you’re like me you don’t really “hear” them…  However, when I saw this watch I just had to smile and stop to think about what they really mean.

Remember - You will die watch

Remember - You will die

The watch has a mirrored face so you see yourself in the watch with the words “remember, you will die”.   It can’t get any clearer than that.  With the rapidly approaching New Year, what are you going to resolve to do to “Seize the day?”  Better yet, what are you going to do TODAY?

I am going to:

  • finish a book review I’ve been slow to get done
  • get some articles farmed out for a new site
  • send out some sales emails for some sites I want to flip

I think that is enough for tonight!

On a side note, I really like the concept and the idea behind the watch company (Mr. Jones Watches) above – interesting stuff.   I have a friend who is really into watches and he questioned the quality and later noticed the message, I barely even saw the watch and only saw the message.  I guess it is all about perspective…

Swimming, snow and no pictures…

Slow day for domains, developing and business in general as I was out early for my daughter’s swim meet and out late for volleyball for the other daughter. In between I finished up most of the Christmas lights.

We rarely get snow and of course it didn’t stick, but it is still weird to be at a swim meet when it is snowing outside. I went to grab my new camera which I bought for taking some website pictures, kids sports, etc, but of course I forgot it so here is a picture of the camera I bought… Still trying to figure it out, but it is pretty sweet.

Domains available to register for free – better hurry!

Occasionally I do research on available names and run across some decent domains that aren’t registered and since I can’t take them all, here are a few you might like (it is better that you can pick up these in blocks I think…):

BTW, if you need some names in a specific niche please let me know as I’m trying out some new tools and I might be able to help you out – free if we agree to let me blog it :)

Domain Names dropping today and a couple at auction

It has been a hectic day, but there are some domains I really like that are dropping today and a couple I’ve seen at auction that I think are very interesting…

Shane over at DomainShane.com (which you should really be reading already, right) found some great domains using DropDay.com. His descriptions are way better than mine so go take a look:

  • BicycleTrainer.net
  • Vic.org

Bido.com has some great names today:

  • Concerts.net – Everyone goes to concerts and there are tons of searches every day – if it were the .com it would be a huge sale – will probably still make the top sales board… Does Jo-Bro with your daughters count as a concert?
  • iOptimistic.com – I generally hate “i” names, but in this case it works really well. Don’t know what I’d do with it yet, but I’m optimistic I can work it out :)
  • 0zd.com – 3 character .com – not much else to say other than questioning what you’d use it for?
  • CandyUnderwear.com - Valentines day is coming up… Tell me you can’t see that site in your head :)

BargainDomains.com has some great names right now without bids…

  • JumpHouse.info – I need to confirm the search numbers on this – I knew it was big because I have 2 kids, but seriously?
  • You.info – Great for a Personal, Persona, Resume, Personal Information, etc site
  • Diet.es – Diet in any extension will be great as the world EXPANDS!

…And finally, Rick Latona has Pans.co – almost typo’d it in this line, but I still like the domain…

Enjoy.

DomainNitro.com – A new look and logo!

I’ve been trying to come up with a better brand for DomainNitro.com and the new theme and logo are what I’ve come up with so far…  Being a tinkerer I’ll probably change it again, but tell me what you think…

BTW, I had this logo designed for me and as with most other things I tried to barter for it and I think I made a pretty good deal as I traded a domain I had less than $50 invested in…

DomainNitro.Com Logo

I am also using a new theme I got at WooThemes. I really like it and I think it goes well with the logo and overall color scheme. Plus, I really like their theme management panel and Framework which includes a lot of the stuff I’d have to do otherwise.

Anyway, hope you like it.
